Required Email DNS Authentication Updates

Dear Shopblocks Community, We have an important update regarding our transactional email service through Mandrill (part of Mailchimp) that requires immediate attention. Starting March 15, 2024, new domain authentication requirements will be enforced to comply with recent changes announced by Google and Yahoo. This update is crucial for maintaining the deliverability and integrity of your emails.

What You Need to Do

DKIM Update:

Add two CNAME records to your DNS settings:

Record 1: Name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com pointing to dkim1.mandrillapp.com

Record 2: Name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com pointing to dkim2.mandrillapp.com

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

DMARC Policy: Create a TXT record with the name _dmarc.yourdomain.com and the value v=DMARC1; p=none in your DNS settings.

Failure to update your domain’s authentication by the deadline will result in Mandrill using a mandrillapp.com subdomain for sending your emails, though replies will still be directed to your original email address.

How to Proceed:

Adjust your DNS settings as described above. Consult your domain provider for any specific requirements they might have. Test your updated records on the Mailchimp Transactional app’s Sending Domains page.

This update is essential for ensuring the continued delivery of your emails. Please make these changes at your earliest convenience and reach out to our support team if you need assistance or have any questions.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Best regards,

The Shopblocks Team
